"I was born in Japan but I've lived in Bali since 1990. So Balinese art and culture have become close to my life. I've admired it since the first time I came to Bali.

"I felt a challenge to make something different from what was being sold in local markets. After experimenting for some time with various kinds of leather sandals and satin bags, I decided to create beaded batik bags.

"They are as attractive as they are functional. My bags carry the beauty of Javanese traditional batik with mostly floral patterns. The batik textile is then combined with matching tiny beads sewn on the motifs. Thus a great deal of patience is required for each one and I have several craftspeople who assist me in creating my designs."
